One of the biggest reasons I love AddeoFit is the community. Every time you walk through the door you see clients supporting and motivating one another with smiles on their faces. Not being able to go into the gym due to the coronavirus is difficult for all of us. However, we can still stay connected and active throughout this time. Here are several ways to continue being happy, healthy humans!
Online Workouts
Online workout classes will soon be available to the AddeoFit community. Join us for the classes you love from wherever you are! We are working on getting them up and running this week. Stay tuned for more updates!
Take a Walk
Being cooped up inside isn’t easy. Take walking breaks to get much needed fresh air. It’s not only good for you physically, but mentally as well. I’ve been going every morning and afternoon to keep my sanity. Schedule time for your walking breaks and be sure to soak in that amazing sunshine.
Dedicate Time to a Hobby
This is a great time to start a new hobby or finally pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read. I’ve already made a pile of novels on my coffee table, my friend is practicing guitar, and my older sister is improving her knitting technique. What are you doing for yourself?
Cook Delicious Recipes
Look forward to your meals by experimenting with new, delicious recipes. Check your kitchen to see what ingredients you already have and work from there. I did this yesterday and decided on the following dishes: 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies, cashew chicken, and broccoli cheddar quiche. I can’t wait to try them!

Practice Mindfulness
I already see people posting on social media about becoming stir crazy. We are so used to constantly going places that when we must stay at home, we just don’t know what to do with ourselves. It’s challenging to turn off the part of our brains that wants to go, go, and go. Try adding mindfulness to your daily routine to help you slow down, reduce stress, and improve quality of sleep.
Mindfulness does not have to mean meditating. Here are a few other ways to practice:
Sit still and listen to an entire song without interruption. Listen to the words and meaning.
Practice gratitude. Think of 5 things you are grateful for at the end of every day. I try to do this before I go to sleep; it’s a nice way to finish the day.
Stretch your body. Focus on the sensations of tension and release.
Mindfully drink tea or coffee. Feel the weight and texture of the cup. Inhale the delicious smell. Begin your day with this relaxing routine.
Look around you. Take in the details of your environment for a few minutes. When was the last time you watched the sunrise or sunset?
